“The sort of shop that I have always been searching for but could never find, so I decided to open it!”
- Ellie Birchell Hughes
About
Hi,
We are Cloth Paper Stitch - a group of friends who are artists who wanted to try and create a different kind of shopping experience that inspires people who love making things. One of the common themes we realised that we all shared was a fascination for making beautiful items out of upcycled materials whether it was a funky rug woven out of jeans for a teenager’s bedroom or a beautiful journal made from old books and junk mail.

Vintage and New Haberdashery and Craft Supplies with Sustainability in Mind.
You won’t find the very latest designs but you have every chance of finding 10 yards of linen lace from the 1930s or fat quarters for quilting sourced from out-of-print Liberty fabrics. If you love scrapbooking and card making you’ll find vintage pretty paper packs sourced from old maps, books and magazines. Many of the things for sale will have a history.

We also care a lot about sustainability and are doing our bit to help the environment by keeping our shop as eco-friendly as possible. All our packaging is biodegradable or recyclable and is also, where possible, produced from 100% recycled materials.
All of the artists are experts in their field so if you need advice about what is the best way to do something, there’s someone on hand to give you tips.
